The girls both have strep throat. At least they got to play in the snow before it really hit them hard. Now they are down and out, and mommy is starting to feel it too. Lets hope it passes! I will post a picture of Ophelia in the snow soon. Need to Cuddle and Rest with my girls.

Ophelia has a great second quarter report card. She got an award for bringing up 3 grades without any other grades dropping. So her report card was straight As well Es because that is what they get in 1st grade! And she got one S in work and study habbits. But that is still awsome! She also got a certificate for getting into the Math Hall of Fame. It is an acelerated Math program at her school and you have to pass a timed math test and she did great! And finally, last on my bragging rights here she also got a Powhatan Pride award, that is awarded to the children with great pride, responsibility and honesty. We are very proud of her!

Well so far so good, the new year is off to a great start. The weather has been really nice and I got to ride last Friday. Of course Athena is in lunchbunch tomorrow and I thought I would get to ride again but we are expecting thunderstorms. You win some and you lose some. I am just happy to have a horse again and Callie is such a pleasure to own. The girls are doing really well in school. Ophelia will be getting another report card at the end of this month, we can not wait. Athena is loving preschool but she can not wait for next year when she gets to ride the bus with her sister to the big school. What ever will I do with all that time? Maybe I will get to ride everyday!!! Bryan is looking forward to me being availible to meet up with him for lunch once in a while. I have to say these are all things to look forward to. But it will be diffrent not having a child in tote everywhere I go. What has it been now 6 years that I have gotten used to having at least one of them with me all the time. I think I will really appreciate my weekends with my whole family!! Well enough of my babble, I hope everyone is having a great new year!!

Back to School

Finally they are going back to school today. There is a 2 hour delay but at least they are going! They are probably only going today and tomorrow, since there is another snow storm coming Thursday night into Friday. I have to say I don't mind the snow and the kids were really not that bad. They did get on each others nerves a bit but that is pretty normal. They really do love playing in the snow though, I will have to be a little quicker on Friday so I can get some pictures. Stay warm......

Well yesterday morning we woke up to some snow and it continued all day long. The kids had no school, and although it got tough toward the end of the day they really did have a lot of fun playing in it with their friends. Of course since we live in Virginia now, they can not clean the roads up as fast as they used to in New York so once again school is closed! Well I guess I will have to run to the store and pick up some snow boots and enjoy the day. It is a beautiful one....

I was having some trouble getting on this site for some reason, but all better now. Well it has been a while. We have a new operating system so I have to learn how to post pictures all over again. They will be coming soon.

We all seem to be sick, humm, it must be the holidays! Seems we always end up sick for one of them. I guess Thanksgiving is better than Christmas! We all had strep throat last Christmas. Ophelia has it now. The rest of us just feel like garbage!

On a happier note, we got a horse last Thursday. I found her online "Free to a good home", lucky for me a friend was really nice and is letting us keep her at her house. Her name is Callie and she seems to be settling in just fine. I can not wait to ride her. She has been just so sweet! I will get some picutes up as soon as I can.

School is back in full swing and boy have we been busy. Athena has been pretty worn out with going everyday, eventhough it is just until noon. I think I am going to get her back on a napping schedule, to prevent the afternoon tantrums. Ophelia is doing great, she loves her teacher this year, and the teacher she had last year for kindergarten is now the computer teacher so she gets to see her still once a week! That worked out pretty cool for her. So far I have just been trying to keep up with the 3 day a week work out up at the YMCA. I have been running on the treadmill 3 days a week for about a half hour, I am up to 2 miles in about 22 mins. for not ever being a runner I am very proud of that. I have also lost almost 10 pounds!!!

However I see my schedule getting a little crowded soon. I got a call yesterday from a women about the PTO. I wanted to get involved this year and they must have liked me a little because I am on the Apparel Committee, and they told me to come to the meeting tonight at 7:30 because they want to put me on the board! I am pretty excited. I will have to let you know what happens.....

Ophelia was up and showering at 6:20am. Then it was down for breakfast and back up to get teeth brushed, dressed and hair done. She ended up with a little time to sit and watch a show before it was time to head for the bus! She was so excited and could not wait for the bus to come, and then off she went. Now I can not wait to see her around 4pm to see how her first day goes!!! One down and one to go, Athena has her meet the teach day tomorrow morning and she starts her Pre-K on Friday. She will be attending 5 days a week this year, I think she will have a great time!

Here we are the day before the first day of school. Ophelia is so excited to start 1st grade!! The bus will be here bright and early at 7:55am to pick her up, and she can not wait! And then Athena has her meet the teacher day on Wednesday morning, and off she goes to Pre-K on Friday. They are both pretty excited now all we have left to do is pick out the awsome back to school outfit!

An Awsome Day Trip

Yesterday we took a ride to North Carolina to vistit Bryan's brother Ron, his wife Libby and their daughter our niece Kyra. We had a great time, the girls played so well together and Bryan and Ron shared some interesting conversations. And Libby and I got to know each other a little better and we all shared a really great time. After hanging out at the house for a while, we decided to go to the mall for ice cream. The mall was a little like our Short Pump Town Center, but a little nicer! On what they refer to as the "Main Street" the outdoor part of the mall, there were diffrent people out performing diffrent things. Libby, myself and Athena sat and watched a juggler, while Bryan, Ophelia, Kyra and Ron went to the bathroom so Ophelia could change (she actually fell in a fountain and was soaked!) Yup she is a product of me and Bryan, she got all of our clumsiness that is for sure! But I have to say even with the fountain fall, I had such a good time that I just laughed! And for those of you that know me well I would have normally flipped out! Well Thanks again you guys we had a great time, and we can not wait to visit again!

Mini Vacation Outing...

Well we had Daimon, Heather, Alyssa and Celeste down for a visit this past week. We had a lot of fun, and on Wednesday we had a day at Paramount Kings Dominion! We had a blast, so much that we are very happy to now have season passes to the park! Everyone had a great time. I do believe we will be heading back very soon. Athena was a little disappointed that she wasn't able to do the roller coasters, but in time she will. Ophelia had a great time on the Anaconda, but she seemed to push herself a little too much to do the Drop Zone. She wanted to try it because her cousin Alyssa wanted to, but the massive high speed drop proved to be a little much for her! Other than that everyone was all smiles and giggles!

for a visit this past week. We are so happy that they got to come. We really just kicked back and relaxed. It was nice. Of course when the time came for them to head back up to New York, the smiles turned sad, but we recovered after a little bit. We are now looking forward to our next visit!

Next weekend it is the girls birthdays' so Uncle Daimon, Aunt Heather, Alyssa and Celeste are coming. We are really looking forward to that. Hopefully we will get a Kings Dominion trip in. We have wanted to go there for a while and just never found the time. It would be a lot of fun I think. And it will be really nice to have some LeVau's visiting again. We always have such a good time with Uncle Daimon and Aunt Heather and the girls. Ophelia and Athena can not wait to hang with their cousins again!!!

A thought to share with anyone that loves their dog...

This past Wednesday, we lost our fury family memeber. And it was truely a shock! We knew that chocolate was toxic to dogs, and we have even had a few instances where Henry had gotten into it before, but unfortuantly on Wednesday July 20, 2005 he got into a little too much. I wanted to share this because from this experience I have found that a lot of people are aware that chocolate is bad for dogs but most people do not reolize just how bad it can be! After doing some research ourselves we discovered that chocolate is the second most likely toxin to kill dogs. Number one is rat/mouse poision and number 3 is Ibuprofen. The dogs find the Ibuprofen so appealing that they have been known to chew through the plastic container to get to them. So I just wanted to share this so if you didn't know now you do, and it doesn't just make them a little sick it can be VERY serious. Take care.....

We had our week in New York, and we did nothing! It was great, we visited with Bryan's family for a change and the kids played with their cousins, well with the older one and they loved meeting their newest cousin! I will post pictures later. It was so relaxing.

Now we are back home and trying to get back into the swing of things. I have been cleaning, and the girls and I went through their toys and we made a sell pile and organized what we are keeping. The girls had fun, they are excited to sell the stuff. Then I had some quite time and the girls played doll upstairs, then we all played Nickelodeon Trivia. Now it is time for dinner and then hopefully daddy will be home soon and off to the YMCA with us! We have not worked out in a week, we are both excited to get back into it!

We are planning another trip to New York. We are planning to leave on Friday morning, hope we have a good visit. The last few times have been really short and I have not had a chance to see all the people I wanted to see. This time should be a bit better. The girls are really excited to see their newest cousin! And they have both also expressed intrest in holding Uncle Daimons pet spider again! They are definatly their daddy's girls. Well time to get to the YMCA gotta run literally! Have a good one!

Well where to start it has been a while. The girls are both offically on summer vacation. We went to the Zoo on Tuesday and got our Zoo passes. It was fun. Yesterday we had a good day also, we got a lot done at the house here and then the girls and I went on a nice walk with the dog and everything.

Congratulations to a few people, Daimon, Heather and Alyssa on there new addition, welcome little Celest! and John, Pam and little Palmer (John and Pam were married on the the 18th) may it last forever!

And lastly, I got Bryan the Green Mountain Single Cup Coffee Brewer, IT KICKS BUTT!!! I highly recommend it to any devoted coffee drinker! I have been going crazy, I am flying to NY with the girls tomorrow, and have not had a chance to get on here much. Also a couple days ago I thought I would have corn on the cob and while husking the corn it sprayed me in the eye, next thing I had to go to the eye Dr. I had an allergic reaction to it and my eye swelled all up!!! YUCK! I will post some pictures when I get a chance.

As for the deck it is coming along great, it should be done weather permitting when I return from NY. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Well sorry of the sucky entry but time is short I will have a good post with great pictures when I get home from NY!

Ophelia just got home from school and asked me if she could read me her book that she got out of the school Library today. It is unbelievable what these kids are doing these days in Kindergarden! She sat here and read me the whole book. And she has already been doing math, like adding and subtracting. It is amazing! She is a really smart kid!

However, I on the other hand am not where she gets her brains from, it must be her daddy! Since today I got half of my order from Dicks Sporting Goods and for the life of me I can not get the T-Ball set that I bought to go together! Talk about feeling like a dumby! It is all of 5 pieces or so, and I can not get them to work together. Oh well, maybe daddy can figure it out. Well gotta run around and close some windows, we have a Thunderstorm coming!

We got a lot of work done on the yard we are really getting it all together. We even got the pool open! Now it is Monday back to the gym, I am in serious need of toning up! I still have to buy a bathing suit and just the thought scares me, I am not comfortable enough with myself to go there yet! Give me a few weeks and things will work out literally just fine. Finally Friday is here, I actually worked today! Doesn't happen often, but once in a while I will actually work outside of the house. I just go up to the Pre-School and sub for them as needed. It is fun to go and play with the kids up there from time to time. The other teachers are really nice, and the kids are really cute. Now we will be getting the kids to bed in a bit and then some friends are coming over for a visit. It is the second weekend they are coming and I have to say it is nice to look forward to. Well Ophelia and I have a birthday party to attend tomorrow afternoon, I will return in my next spare 5 mins........HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!

Well we got the pool open last weekend, now we just have to get the water level up. We should be getting rain today, and we had some last night. The kids can't wait to get in it! They ask everyday to swim. Soon enough, right now they could other than that fact that the water is too cold. We are going to finish up some more of the yard work this weekend, and maybe we will plan for a BBQ. If not we will definatly have one next weekend. Thank GOD for COFFEE, without it I don't think we would have a chance at servival today! We had a heck of a night last night, I think we were up almost every hours for one reason or another, and upon waking up we noticed that we had an extra body in our bed! Ophelia had a tummy ache last night, however there was no fever or any other symtoms so it was off to school for her!

Well things seem to be improving! My little Athena is finally fever free lets see how long it lasts! Hopefully all day!!! And my parents should be arriving sometime today that will be GREAT! They are coming down to see the dance recital. Depending on how today goes maybe Athena will get to dance in it after all.

I am not wait for school to be over for the kids, they can play more and get less colds! That and that would mean summer is here and we get to open the pool and have some backyard parties, we are long over due for a good fun party! I should have some cute pictures after the weekend!

Athena seems to be sick again! Man this is getting old. I put her down for a nap and thought she would wake up happy and ready to dance and instead she got up throwing up everywhere!! She has had no desire to eat anything not even fruit snacks! She is trying a little cheese and some soda, but we shall see. On the other hand Ophelia is doing well and she will be going to dance tonight. She gets her costume today and her recital is on Saturday. I had an awsome Mother's Day! Bryan took Ophelia out shopping on Saturday, and then when they got back I went to Lisa's for a Southern Living Party! After the party Lisa and I went to Bingo, unfortunatly we didn't win this time but it was fun! Then came Mother's day, I got great gifts, Athena got me the Gilmore Girls Season 3, Ophelia got me a beautiful Cala Lili plant, she picked me a white one because that was my choice flower at my wedding! She is always thinking!! And Bryan got me a projector (did i mention how much he wanted one) I love him and we all love our new 90 inch TV!!! I hope all you other mothers out there had a great one!!!
